Superhero Manifesto

Financing Your Superhero Lifestyle

As this is a reality-based project, we should face the fact that superheroing is not inexpensive or easy. If you do not happen to be independently wealthy like Batman or Iron Man this can certainly hamper your attempts.

The first most basic method of funding a superhero lifestyle is to do it on an Finally, the third individual basis. Spider-Man for instance does this, making his money at his job as a photojournalist and using this to go towards materials he needs; web spinners, costume, etc.

The second type of superhero funding is geared towards the super-team. It entails each member contributing to the group. This can be a simple flat due for each member or set as a certain percentage of each members income so that it is more affordable to members who don’t make as much money. The money’s use would be determined by the group. It is obviously up to the team how this would be organized.

Finally, the third and most complicated fundraising method necessitates having a

publicly operating group that can do one or a combination of the following:

Accepting donations from individuals or businesses;

The team licenses their names and images to be used on merchandise such as t-shirts, coffee mugs, lunch boxes, etc;

The team establishes itself as a formal not-for-profit agency to gain credibility, take donations and benefit from a tax- free status.
